Disaster Relief Information

When disaster occurs, people need help and support – Pray, Give, Volunteer

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This morning, USA Today reported:

"Helene made landfall at about 11:10 p.m. ET Thursday near Perry, Florida, with 140-mph winds, making it the first known Category 4 storm to hit Florida’s Big Bend region since records began in 1851. Overturned boats, flattened homes and a vista of floodwater several-feet-deep were revealed at dawn across the storm-weary region."

Charis Disaster Response is in the early hours of assessment for the impact of Hurricane Helene. Although the devastation began to impact in the Florida Big Bend area it will continue to wreak havoc as the storms make their way inland toward the North Atlantic states. Therefore, our attention is initially on areas in the south but we will continue to follow the path of destruction the storm leaves behind.

How you can help?

Pray: The disaster is a reality. The devastation is done. Pray for the people that have been impacted; that God will reveal himself to them; that God will show us what He is doing in the calamity and how we can join Him in His work.

Donate: If God leads you to assist financially, you can do so here: Donations

Volunteer: We are going to need laborers. Right now our focus is in the Florida region but it could likely expand to the east coast. If your church has people that can deploy to any region, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL to Charis Disaster Response and tell us your Disaster Response Contact's name, phone & email. Also specify in which regions you would be able to serve. All further hurricane information will be communicated directly with them. Email: DisasterResponse@CharisFellowship.com

Thank you for being a light in a time of darkness for so many!

Serving Him Together!
